Contract | 3 Months | £350-£400/day (Inside IR35)
We’re currently working with a local authority that’s committed to delivering smarter, more efficient public services—and technology is right at the heart of it. Right now, they’re looking to bring in an experienced IT Business Analyst - Support on a short-term contract to help keep essential systems running smoothly and compliantly.

What’s the role all about?
You’ll be joining the IT Applications & Systems Support team, working across a range of core business applications. Your job will be to keep these systems stable, secure, and fit for purpose—whether that’s resolving incidents, improving reporting, or guiding end users on best practices. It's a hands-on role that mixes technical insight with collaboration and communication.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing end-to-end business-level support for key applications
- Investigating incidents and resolving user issues efficiently
- Collaborating with internal IT teams and third-party suppliers
- Maintaining system documentation, managing change control, and supporting testing
- Helping teams make better use of data through improved reporting
- Delivering user training and supporting the rollout of new features and enhancements
What the client is looking for:
- Experience supporting at least one core business application in an IT service environment
- Strong understanding of application support, data quality standards, and reporting
- Great communication skills and confidence working with users, IT teams, and vendors
- Knowledge of ITIL practices or similar service frameworks
- A general education including GCSEs (or equivalent experience)
Nice-to-haves:
- ITIL qualification
- Exposure to relational databases and reporting tools
- Experience in public sector or large-scale environments
- Business analysis or process review knowledge
