Premier Engineering is working with a leading engineering company based in Oxfordshire that is looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer. This position is ideal for someone who has worked within a regulated industry, such as defence, aerospace, automotive, or medical.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.)

  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as aerospace, defence, automotive, or medical devices

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Solidedge, Solidworks

  • Strong understanding of design for manufacture (DFM), tolerances, and materials

  • Experience with technical documentation, change control, and version management

  • Good knowledge of relevant standards, certifications, or compliance procedures

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
  • Designing mechanical components and assemblies in line with project requirements and industry regulations

  • Creating detailed 3D models and technical drawings for production

  • Collaborating with internal teams across R&D, manufacturing, and quality

  • Participating in design reviews and ensuring documentation is kept up to date

  • Supporting testing, validation, and prototyping activities

  • Ensuring compliance with industry and customer standards throughout the design process
