As a Technical Sales Engineer, you’ll manage a variety of technical enquiries and projects, working closely with engineering and marketing teams to deliver tailored machine vision solutions. You’ll develop a strong understanding of customer needs and guide them through the full sales process — from initial contact to successful project delivery.
Technical Sales Engineer - The Role:
- Manage inbound and marketing-generated sales leads
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities
- Support creation of technical proposals and deliver tailored product demonstrations
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships across diverse sectors
- Collaborate closely with engineering to align solutions with client needs
- Contribute to sales strategies, campaigns, and collateral development
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
- Help achieve quarterly and annual sales targets
You’ll be a technically minded and commercially aware individual who enjoys working with customers to solve complex problems.
Technical Sales Engineer - The Person:
- 3+ years’ experience in technical sales, lead generation, or customer service within a high-tech environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field (2:1 or above preferred)
- Strong relationship-building skills combined with a natural commercial mindset
- Consultative, solution-driven sales approach
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and sales outreach tools
- Driven, detail-oriented, and goal-focused with a logical, consultative sales approach
- Knowledge of manufacturing, industrial automation, or machine vision technologies is a strong advantage
