OverviewOur client seeks a proactive Senior Financial Accountant to lead financial systems design, regulatory compliance, and direct taxation. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports system implementations, and drives process improvements.Key Responsibilities
Systems & Reporting
- Lead financial system design and implementation, ensuring robust structures and compliance
- Oversee testing plans and contribute to major system upgrades (e.g., TAPS, Nav to Business Central, SAP BOFC replacement).
Training & Documentation
- Train finance and operational teams on complex processes.
- Document key areas for HMRC readiness and source expert resources.
Leadership & Development
- Set objectives with the FD and conduct regular 1:1s.
- Support team development and provide cover for critical tasks.
Regulatory & Technical Expertise
- Act as SME for direct taxation and regulatory changes (e.g., FRS 102, UK vs German GAAP).
- Monitor and interpret legislative updates.
Policies & Procedures
- Maintain financial policies (e.g., Fixed Asset, Bad Debt) aligned with best practices.
Regulatory Reporting
- Manage ONS survey submissions beyond monthly revenue.
Qualifications & Experience
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with senior accounting experience.
- Strong systems knowledge and process improvement skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Desirable
- Experience with Business Central, SAP BOFC, UK/German GAAP.
- Skilled in managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
