Peterborough City Council is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join our Children in Care - Corporate Parenting Service. As Corporate Parents, we are committed to ensuring our children and young people have access to the right support and services to help them thrive and achieve throughout their journey in care.

Responsibilities:

  • Hold a caseload of children in care, ensuring high-quality care planning and outcomes.
  • Advocate for children and young people, supporting their voice and aspirations.
  • Lead practice development workshops and mentor newly qualified social workers.
  • Support the Team Manager with performance and service improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to deliver SMART goals through trauma-informed and restorative practice.

Experience:

  • Be registered with Social Work England.
  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Have minimum 3 years' post-qualifying experience in children's social care.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, mentoring, and organisational skills.
  • Be passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
