Purpose of the Role

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems by ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier transactions. You will be responsible for maintaining clean ledgers, ensuring due diligence in account operations, and supporting the wider finance team in delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase ledgers.
  • Download and allocate daily bank statements.
  • Resolve cash allocation issues by obtaining remittances and missing documents.
  • Post supplier invoices and credit notes, including intercompany transactions.
  • Accurately code invoices/credits to the correct nominal ledger or vehicle stock book.
  • Perform monthly and ad hoc supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Execute monthly payment runs and daily ad hoc payment requests.
  • Ensure all payments are properly authorised and supported by correct documentation.
  • Run month-end ledger reports and assist with closing procedures.
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and improve processes.
Key Relationships
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the finance team to ensure consistent and efficient service delivery.
