HGV Shift Supervisor Job Details
Basic Salary: £46,956pa
Working Hours: 40 Hours
Week 1 - Monday-Friday - 07:00-15:00
Week 2 - Monday-Friday - 15:00-23:00 & Saturday 07:00-13:00 (at overtime rate)
Location: Peterborough
 
Overtime - Time and a Half Monday-Saturday & Double Pay Sundays and Bank Holidays worked + call out.
 
25 days holiday, rising to 30 + bank holidays
 
As the shift/workshop supervisor, you'll play a key role in leading the team of HGV technicians, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to high standards. You'll act as a hands-on leader, supporting technicians on the shop floor while coordinating workloads, maintaining quality control, and liaising with the Service Manager to meet operational targets.
 
Responsibilities of an HGV Shift Supervisor
·Routine vehicle maintenance to DVSA standards.
·Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection.
·Diagnosing of vehicles diagnostic equipment.
·Good housekeeping and H&S requirements.
·Ensure all paperwork is completed.
·Working closely with the team to create high levels of morale and focus to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and with excellence in quality.
·Maximising the shifts performance through effective problem solving, coaching & development.

Skills and Qualifications of an HGV Shift Supervisor
·Level 3 / City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician
·HGV licence is an advantage
·Prior supervisory/leadership experience
