Mechanical Fitter – Manufacturing, Start your new career in January

Salary: £26,500 – £31,500 DOE + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm

Wise Employment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organisation for a Mechanical Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to start your new career in January, working in a modern manufacturing environment focused on the assembly, maintenance and refurbishment of mobile industrial water treatment systems.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mechanical builds while maintaining strict safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, maintain and repair mechanical components and equipment
  • Complete routine and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Refurbish and fabricate parts to support production
  • Calibrate and validate instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Work independently and collaboratively with fitters, welders, electricians and fabricators
  • Adhere to EHS standards, safety risk assessments and 5S housekeeping practices
  • Contribute to LEAN / KAIZEN continuous improvement initiatives
  • Attend training sessions, team meetings and support overtime when required

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven mechanical assembly experience within an industrial environment
  • Experience with PVC and stainless-steel pipework, valves and fittings
  • Competent use of hand and power tools
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and quality compliance
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • MIG and/or TIG welding experience or certification
  • Familiarity with water treatment systems
