This is a vital account management position focused on strengthening and growing the company's UK client base. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing long-standing customer relationships, ensuring continued satisfaction and identifying growth opportunities within each account. With regular travel across the UK and a hybrid working arrangement, this role combines autonomy, variety and the opportunity to directly influence revenue and retention.
Key Responsibilities -
- Manage and develop existing customer accounts, ensuring exceptional service and support
- Conduct regular on-site visits to client locations across the UK (3 days per week travel expected)
- Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within current accounts
- Prepare technical proposals and tailored quotations aligned to customer requirements
- Provide product advice, drawing on engineering knowledge to recommend solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams to support order processing and delivery tracking
- Maintain accurate records using CRM systems and generate account activity reports
- Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives as needed
What We're Looking For -
- Proven experience in account management or sales engineering within the construction or engineering sectors
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers
- Technical aptitude, ideally with experience reading technical drawings or working with engineered products
- Confident managing the full sales process from quotation to post-sale support
- Highly organised and proactive, with excellent time management skills
- Comfortable working independently on the road and collaboratively as part of a wider team
- Competent in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
- Full UK driving licence is essential
