About the Role:Reed are currently on the lookout for a passionate and experienced SEN teaching assistant to join a fantastic team in Yaxley - Peterborough. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This would be a full-time role starting from September, hours would be 8:30-15:30 per day. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the pupil throughout the school day with tasks set by the teacher.
- Ensuring the pupil stays on task and reaches their full potential.
- Managing the pupil's behaviour inside and outside the classroom.
- Taking the pupil to the sensory area if they become overwhelmed.
- Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO to create and implement a plan for the pupil in order for them to achieve the most possible out of the school day.
Requirements:
- High level of patience and skill in dealing with learning difficulties.
- Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum.
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
- Experience working with SEN is highly beneficial.
- UK address and right to work.
