Role:
- As a CAD/CAM Engineer you will be responsible for importing and reviewing customer data, doing detailed feasibility of the work required to implement the required changes and sharing with the Tooling Manager for costing.
- To modify and process any model changes required, out to the machine shop and tool room with working instructions showing clear action of work needed.
- As a CAD CAM Engineer you will have experience in Delcam (Powermill and Powershape) Other software including EdgeCAM, MasterCAM and AlphaCAM would be considered
Responsibilities:
- In-house tool design, including modifications.
- Sourcing and identification of tooling specific ancillary parts, producing detailed BOM for use in the purchasing of parts.
- Production of tool drawings for use in the manufacture of tools.
- To output all drawings/documentation to production Manager.
- Overseas tooling reviews, to provide accurate and sufficient feedback to toolmakers.
- To generate any EDM Electrode and setting data to ensure correct EDM process is applied.
- To support the Tool Room to ensure fully efficient turn around of customer modification requests.
- Customer component feasibility, to provide accurate and sufficient feedback to our customers or Project Managers.
- To produce detail documents outlining data comparisons.
- Tool design feasibility, in house and overseas.
- Project management.
Experience requirements:
- BTEC HNC Design/Manufacture or equivalent.
- Experienced with an industry recognised CAD system and competent in handling 3D model data (Delcam Powermill and Powershape preferred, other software including EdgeCAM, MasterCAM and AlphaCAM would be considered)
- To have comprehensive knowledge/background of injection Mould Tool Design.
- Computer literate & be able to use the Microsoft suite of products.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, work on own initiative or within a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and team trust
