Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Plymouth
Contract: Full time, fixed term (opportunities to become permanent)
Salary: £100 - £110 per day
Empower, Inspire, Support.
Changing lives starts with connection. Are you ready to make that impact?
Here at Long-Term Teachers, we’re proud to be working with a dynamic and inclusive multi-site educational provision in Plymouth, supporting young people who haven’t thrived in mainstream or specialist settings. This is not your average classroom role - it’s an opportunity to guide, mentor and walk alongside students who need consistency, care and someone in their corner.
We’re looking for compassionate, proactive Teaching Assistants to join a passionate team working across primary or secondary provisions. This is a role that’s just as much about relationship building as it is about education.
About The Role:
Your day-to-day role will involve working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who have faced barriers in traditional education. You’ll support bespoke, themed learning programmes designed to re-engage students, build emotional resilience and help them take meaningful steps forward.
This isn’t about teaching from the front of the room - it’s about meeting young people where they are, in the classroom and out in the community.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Someone with a genuine passion for working with children and young people, especially those with additional or complex needs
-
Experience in SEN, care, youth work, sports coaching or similar fields
-
A confident communicator who builds trust and rapport easily
-
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential
-
Business insurance on your vehicle (or willingness to get it)
-
A current DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Why This Role?
-
Be part of a forward-thinking, supportive team
-
Make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils who need stability and encouragement
-
Enjoy off-site activities and flexible learning environments
-
Progression opportunities available for committed, impactful staff
-
Plenty of CPD opportunities to support your career progression and enhance your CV
If you’re looking for a meaningful role that goes beyond routine, where every day offers the chance to empower a young person, we want to hear from you!
