The RoleAs a Payroll Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services for a workforce of approximately 2,500 weekly and salaried employees. Reporting to the Head of Compensation & Reward, you will ensure compliance with payroll processes, statutory reporting, and benefits administration. You will also support continuous improvements within the department and assist in driving efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing payroll processes for starters, leavers, and existing employees.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders, such as HMRC, legal teams, and unions.
  • Administering benefit-in-kind schemes, salary sacrifice, and pension contributions.
  • Generating detailed payroll reports and supporting audit activities.
  • Driving process enhancements and leading payroll-related projects.

This role offers an opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team in a dynamic environment where you will be an ambassador for operational excellence.

About YouThe ideal candidate will have:

  • Payroll qualifications (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (advantageous).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive and efficient approach to managing tasks.
