About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our groundworks and civil engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency, and supporting the delivery of groundworks projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.

  • Carry out measurement, take-offs, and prepare bills of quantities for groundworks and civil engineering packages.

  • Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, and contract administration.

  • Assess, value, and certify subcontractor applications and variations.

  • Monitor project progress and prepare accurate monthly cost reports.

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks.

  • Liaise with clients, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure financial transparency.

  • Provide support with final accounts and project close-out.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks / civil engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts and construction law.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office.

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
