An established further and higher education provider in Plymouth is looking to appoint a passionate and knowledgeable Electrical Engineering Lecturer to join its growing academic team. With a strong focus on inclusive, industry-aligned education from Entry Level to Higher Education, the institution partners closely with employers to deliver relevant and future-facing programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the next generation of engineers by delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to curriculum innovation, supporting research initiatives, and mentoring students in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and lab-based sessions in electrical and electronic engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Create and update teaching resources and assessments that reflect current academic standards and industry requirements.
  • Take an active role in curriculum development, ensuring course content remains relevant to emerging technologies and skills demands.
  • Participate in individual and collaborative research projects, contribute to publications, and foster links with industry stakeholders.
  • Support learners through academic guidance, timely feedback, and tailored support strategies.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • A recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards one.
  • A minimum Level 2-4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
  • An IQA qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Industry experience in an electrical engineering environment.
  • Experience in teaching or training, particularly within manufacturing or electrical engineering disciplines.
  • A strong track record in monitoring and supporting diverse student cohorts across various programmes.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
