Production Manager – 12 Month FTC

About the Role

We’re recruiting a Production Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established food manufacturing business that supplies leading brands such as Hello Fresh and Gousto.

This site is not an abattoir – it focuses on slicing, dicing, and packaging beef and lamb products to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will be responsible for leading production teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining compliance across safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop production teams to deliver performance targets.

  • Manage daily operations, ensuring equipment, facilities, and assets are maintained.

  • Uphold site food safety culture to protect product safety, quality, and legality.

  • Oversee compliance with health & safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance (PPM) and manage service contracts.

  • Deliver accurate reporting, KPIs, and compliance audit outcomes.

  • Control raw material stock usage in line with allocations.

  • Drive capital and improvement projects in line with business needs.

  • Identify training needs to build skills and succession within the team.

About You

We are looking for a strong leader with:? Proven management experience in a food production environment.? Strong knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and food safety standards.? Experience managing teams, processes, and performance KPIs.? A continuous improvement mindset with excellent organisational skills.? Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
