Our client is recruiting for a Senior Engineer (Electrical and Electronics) to join their Engineering team and provide technical knowledge and expertise for new and existing assets and associated equipment, to support crews and coastal operations.



Your Role


As a Senior Engineer (Electrical and Electronics), you will focus on the following areas:

  • Supporting the integration, testing, and roll-out of new assets and equipment, ensuring all work is based on cost, risk, and performance.
  • Ensuring that the design and integration of assets, equipment, and procedures are developed in accordance with Engineering Processes and Standards.
  • Undertaking technical investigations, troubleshooting, trials, and analysis of data at lifeboat stations, boatyards, and contractors' premises.
  • Creating CAD models, design calculations, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Working within delivery and project teams, ensuring tasks are completed to agreed timescales.
  • Coordinating and participating in research and development projects as required.


About You


You will be a strong team player with the ability to problem solve and think analytically while handling a demanding workload with changing priorities. You will operate within a high-profile department, liaising across the organisation and with external organisations and suppliers. Your commitment to producing safe, innovative, and cost-effective engineering and design solutions will be key. To be considered for this role, you will need:



Essential:

  • Significant experience in a similar role.
  • Engineering qualification equivalent to the England, Wales & Northern Ireland qualification level 6 as defined by the UK government, or at level 5 with proven additional experience.
  • Experience in the engineering industry.
  • Demonstrable progression towards Engineering Council registration at the Incorporated Engineer level.
  • Good understanding of spoken and written English.
  • Good IT skills including the use of software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and CAD (SolidWorks).


Desirable:


While this is not an operational seagoing position, it is highly desirable that the postholder be operationally seagoing and capable of going afloat in all sea conditions.

  • Supervisory or line management experience.
  • Project management experience.

Salary:

Salary is dependant on experuence. An excellent beneift package is also on offer. This will be discussed further on application
