This key operational role will require a good understanding of Transmission and Distribution maintainable assets, including Cathodic Protection and Plant Protection processes (SGN/WI/SW2) associated with our High-Pressure Network. In addition, the ability to manage a team to deliver excellent safety and operational performance.

  • Delivery of all specified scheduled routine Pipeline maintenance tasks in line with SGN policy and procedures.
  • Management and provision of resources to prevent third party damage to SGN's High Pressure network.
  • Completion of quality inspections and audits to drive compliance and continuously improve standards.
  • Completion of non-routine and adhoc workloads associated with HP Pipeline operation.
  • Ownership and completion of specific projects within geographical area.
  • Driving performance through the day-to-day management of a front-line team.
  • Providing engineering support and input to both internal and external customers.
  • Participation in Maintenance Standby rota as required.

What you will need

  • Excellent communication skills to ensure positive interactions are maintained with all stakeholders.
  • A working understanding of gas Transmission/Distribution systems.
  • Proven track record on delivering high standards of work in a safety critical role.
  • Capable of preparing detailed reports of completed works.
  • A flexible and positive attitude to work, self-motivated to deliver work to a high standard.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and maps.
  • Good understanding of procedures relevant to Pipelines and particularly Cathodic Protection, SGN/PM/MAINT/5, SGN/PM/ECP/2 & SGN/WI/SW/2.
  • Full driving license is essential. This role requires significant travel within geographical area.
