Role Overview

Our client is a world class electro mechanical manufacturing service provider who specializes in various industries including aerospace and automotive. They are looking for a Product Engineer who will be responsible for providing manufacturing documentation and engineering support to ensure the day-to-day manufacturing build requirements are met. You provide the interface between customer requirements (Parts Lists & Drawings) and our client and are required to convert this information into documents and formats that can be understood and used by those departments.

Duties

  • Inputting and checking Bills of Materials.
  • Planning, creating, and updating detailed Assembly Aids (AA’s) and ensuring these conform to customer requirements.
  • Configuration control of all supplied documents & engineering packs.
  • Carry out customer design changes at agreed implementation points.
  • Communicate any problems to internal departments and customers (if applicable).
  • Support Production in analysis of product yields and trends, plus assist process improvement groups to help find root cause.
  • Provide Design for Manufacture (DFM) feedback to customers to help ensure products are optimised for assembly.
  • Assist sales with labour estimates if required.
  • Plan and implement new or improved methods and processes to maximise manufacturing yields

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience of electronic assembly is essential.
  • Understanding technical drawings and electronic component descriptions is essential.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Word to create production documents is desirable.
  • Previous experience in an Engineering/Technician role is desirable.
  • Experience of mechanical assembly is an advantage.
  • Understanding MRP Stock Control Software is advantageous.
  • Experience of Continuous Improvement is a benefit.
