Year 2 Teacher - Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and qualified Year 2 Teacher to join our client Ofsted rated good Primary School in Portsmouth (PO2) on a permanent basis. This is a full time role to commence in September 2025.



About the Role

  • Position: Year 2 Teacher (Permanent)

  • Start Date: 3rd September 2025

  • Working Hours: 08:00am - 16:00pm Monday to Friday

  • Location: Portsmouth, PO2 - a convenient and accessible area with great transport links

  • Rate of Pay: From 162.31 per day (in line with teacher payscale)



What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced, confident teacher with strong behaviour management skills who can create a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere. You'll be supported by a friendly and collaborative team, ensuring you feel welcomed and equipped to succeed in this role.



Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

  • Essential: Qualified Teacher Status

  • Desirable:

    • Experience of working within a similar role

    • Evidence of, and commitment to, continuing professional development

    • A relevant degree or higher degree qualification



To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold the right to work in the UK

  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application

  • Provide references upon request

  • Possess up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
