About the Role:
We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and proactive Mentors to support young people with a range of additional needs including:

  • SEN (Special Educational Needs)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
  • PEX (Permanent Exclusion)
  • EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
  • Other complex needs

As a Mentor, you will help young people:

  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Reengage with education and learning
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with trusted adults
  • Navigate challenges and celebrate progress

About you:

  • Experience working with children and young people (formal or informal)
  • Understanding of SEN, SEMH, and trauma-informed approaches
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team

Hours - Monday to Friday- Flexible dates and timings
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people


      • Trauma-informed- desirable

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
