Full-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Primary School, Portsmouth

Contract Type: Long-Term, Full-Time

Acadademics Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Portsmouth to recruit a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from November.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HLTA to contribute to a vibrant school community, bringing creativity, initiative, and a passion for supporting children's learning.

Applicants must have recent UK-based school experience and hold relevant HLTA qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver lessons in the absence of the class teacher
* Provide classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
* Lead targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
* Support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
* Assist with phonics, literacy, numeracy, and guided reading
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support learning outcomes
* Contribute to behaviour management and pupil well-being

Candidate Requirements:
* HLTA status or equivalent Level 4/5 qualification
* Recent experience in UK primary school settings
* Strong understanding of the National Curriculum across the primary school key stages
* Confident in delivering lessons independently
* Adaptable, proactive, and passionate about working with children
* Experience across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 is preferred
* Willingness to support pupils with additional needs and personal care if required
