GSL Education is delighted to be recruiting for a Part-Time Technology Technician on behalf of a well-established secondary school located in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a practical, hands-on individual to join a supportive and creative department that plays a vital role in the school’s curriculum.

The Role:
As a Technology Technician, you’ll provide essential support to the Design and Technology department. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing materials and equipment for lessons across a range of technology subjects including resistant materials, electronics, graphics, and food.
  • Maintaining machinery and tools, ensuring they’re safe and ready for use.
  • Supporting teaching staff in delivering engaging practical lessons.
  • Ordering stock, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar technician or workshop-based role is desirable.
  • A sound understanding of Health and Safety procedures within a workshop or school setting.
  • Confidence using a range of tools and machinery (training will be provided if needed).
  • A proactive and organised individual who enjoys working as part of a team.

This is a term-time only position, offering excellent work-life balance. A permanent contract is available upon successful completion of the probation period.
