An exciting opportunity has arisen in an established but growing company in Waterlooville.
We are recruiting for a technical administrator/estimator to join their Commercial team. If you have experience in engineering or have some electrical or mechanical experience and are looking to move your career forward with a progressive company this role could be a perfect fit for you. Full training will be provided for this role which will include all aspects of estimating work, including tracking and analysing enquiries, pricing work, and negotiating with suppliers. You will manage the whole process from start to finish and work as part of a team to secure and price work. This is an office based role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage tender process from initial inquiry to submission.
- Support Project Management through delivery.
- Developing both product and service knowledge to represent the company to the highest of standards.
- Working closely with Contracts, Commercial and Office departments throughout.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates
- Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings
- Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Present estimates to clients and negotiate pricing if necessary
- Maintain documentation of all estimates and related correspondence
Experience:
- Organised, self-motivated, methodical with attention to detail and have excellent problem-solving skills, all supported by a high level of technological skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of negotiating and securing contracts are essential.
- The candidate must be personable and able to establish long term relationships with clients to support future business growth.
The candidate must be highly numerate, and numbers driven individual.
Skills: - Cost control: Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to control project expenses
