Wirral (Hybrid Working)

Finance Manager required to join a well-established forward-thinking Public Sector organisation on a permanent full time basis on the Wirral. Our client is looking for an engaging Finance Manager who is keen to add real value to the finance team and wider organisation.

The Finance Manager will contribute to a solution-focussed, innovative, financial management function that enables the effective allocation of resources to outcomes, to ensure value for money.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Manager;

  • Leading a team of four Finance Business Partners
  • As a member of Departmental Management Teams within the business, encourage positive financial behaviour so that all actions and decisions are made with a sound financial and commercial focus and there is clear accountability for their delivery
  • Collaborate with budget holders and stakeholders within assigned Directorates to provide expert financial advice and guidance on financial matters.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with budget holders, understanding their objectives, and translating them into financial plans and strategies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective financial controls and processes.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets for assigned teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Required skills and experience of the Finance Manager;

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (CIPFA,ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
  • Proven business partnering skills
  • Experience in leadership and staff management of at least one person
  • Previous experience within a commercial or property environment (desirable/advantageous)
  • Previous experience within Public Sector (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
  • High level of interpersonal and influencing skills to develop sustainable and beneficial relationships with stakeholders
