And recently the holders of the National renewable heat installer & contractor of the year. We were notified that we have delivered the highest number of LAD measures in the UK along side the Liverpool city region. We offer a range of services such as: Gas boiler replacements, external wall insulation, internal wall insulation, underfloor insulation, loft insulation, cavity walls, solar panels, and air source heat pumps.
Purpose of the role
Next Energy is a leading provider of retrofit installation services, dedicated to improving energy efficiency and sustainability in the UKs housing stock. With a strong track record in delivering high-quality solutions, we are now seeking a proactive and driven Business Development Manager?to expand our footprint in the social housing sector, focusing on building relationships with Local Authorities and Housing Associations.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible foridentifying, developing, and managing a strong pipeline of retrofit tender opportunities. You will actively build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in the social housing sector and collaborate closely with internal teams including marketing and bid writing to drive new business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence:
Pipeline Development:Identify and qualify tender opportunities for retrofit installation projects within the social housing sector.
Stakeholder Engagement:?Build and maintain strong relationships with Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and other relevant bodies.
Event Participation:?Attend and represent the company at key social housing and retrofit-related events, conferences, and networking sessions.
Collaboration:?Work closely with the marketing team to tailor campaigns targeting the social housing sector and support lead generation efforts.
Bid Coordination:?Liaise with the bid writing team to ensure high-quality, competitive submissions aligned with client expectations.
Market Intelligence:Monitor industry trends, policy developments (e.g. LARS, SHDF), and funding opportunities relevant to retrofit works.
Reporting:Maintainaccurate CRM records and provide regular updates on business development activities and pipeline status to senior management.
Management of sales targets, volume growth and customer retention.
Maximising opportunities to enhance business profitability
Targeting and procurement of new business through focussed sales drive
Evaluation of existing customer base to always ensure volume / margin maximisation
Identifying & pursuing business development opportunities
Preparing commercial propositions for new & existing customers in conjunction with the Commercial department
Developing & managing real relationships with customer portfolio.
Ensuring the customer(s) is / are kept fully informed of all areas which affect contract performance
Exploring & developing new opportunities with the current and potential customer base

Strong understanding of public sector tendering processes and frameworks.
Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to represent the company at industry events and confidently engage with senior stakeholders.
Experience collaborating with marketing and bid writing teams is highly desirable.
Self-starter with strong organisational and time management skills.
Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
