A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Transport Supervisor to join a successful, well-established and market-leading business on a full time, permanent basis at their Rainhill site. This is a Mon to Fri days position.

Directly reporting into the Transport Manager, you will work within a small transport team and provide essential support in ensuring that legislative requirements are adhere to, that drivers' hours are fully compliant and that relevant data regarding transport checks, defect reporting, servicing and MOT's as well as H&S legislation is complied with. You will possess strong administrative skills and work with attention to detail to ensure that fleet records are maintained to a very high standard.

You will liaise daily with your driving and transport team, debrief and support wherever possible to ensure that the operation runs smoothly as a legally compliant and cost-effective logistics department. You will deputise for the Transport Manager when required, and in the event of driver absence (or to over holiday periods) you will provide relief cover, as such an HGV 2 licence is an advantage. Continuous improvement will play a key part and you should be prepared to challenge the status quo to suggest ways in which the department, and success of the team can be made more efficient. Your input with regards to creative solutions to problems will be encouraged.

You will also ensure that route optimisation is achieved to ensure profitability and that the use of agency drivers is kept to a minimum. You will also make certain that corrective actions are investigated, analysed and actioned. CPC would be a huge advantage.
