Airworthiness Engineer

Initial 12 Month Contract

Hybrid - 2-3 days per week on site in Warton

£53.24 Per Hour (Umbrella Rate - Inside IR35)

The Role

  • Capability Development: Contribute to the evolution of Airworthiness & Product Integrity capability to create a performing organisation; develop business cases and guide improvement projects as required.
  • Regulatory Compliance: support the cross-functional Regulations Working Group; impact assess and communicate regulatory changes; plan and coordinate the implementation of regulatory changes; maintain the Design Organisation's compliance status; improve the methods for maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Airworthiness Management System: Manage the transformation of the Airworthiness management system to establish a standard operating model; develop audit schedules; oversee document reviews and process confirmations; run the departmental Quality Management Review.
  • Technical Review: Support the technical review of Design and Airworthiness artefacts to assure the safety of flight clearances, as a Type Airworthiness Assessor.
  • Functional Support: Assist in a range of functional activities including; MAA Audits; delegated authorities; communities of practice; etc.

The Candidate

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM subject.
  • Typically 5-10 years experience in aircraft design and development.
  • Proficient use of MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint.
  • Confident in the use of engineering toolsets.
  • Good communication, supervisory and team working skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of military and civil airworthiness regulatory environments
  • Understanding of AW standards such as CS25/CAP 722
  • Previous experience with MoD / DE&S would be benficial
