Working Hours: 8 AM- 3.30 PM
Salary: 13- 14/ hour- negotiable, based on experience

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal autistic pupil in a primary setting in Preston. This is a temporary position covering from 2nd June to 11th July 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support tailored to the individual needs of a non-verbal autistic child.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver appropriate strategies and interventions.
Support learning, communication, and personal development in a structured and nurturing manner.
Use visual aids, communication systems (e.g., PECS, Makaton, AAC), and other SEN strategies.
Ensure the child's safety and engagement in all activities throughout the school day.
Monitor and report on progress to the SENCO and class teacher.

Essential Requirements:

Proven experience working 1:1 with autistic, non-verbal children in an educational setting.
Strong understanding of autism and non-verbal communication methods.
Ability to remain calm, flexible, and responsive to individual needs.

Must Haves:

Legal Right to Work in the UK: You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Enhanced Child DBS: You must have an Enhanced Child DBS check or be willing to undertake one (we can help with this).
