Contract: Long-term with potential for permanent placementThe Role:We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Preston. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream setting.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN
  • Assist in the implementation of EHCPs and behaviour support plans
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support classroom activities and adapt materials to meet individual needs
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school or alternative settings)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential.
