Job Title: Supply Chain Coordinator- £30-£35k Job Type: Full-time, Permanent- Office basedLocation: Head Office- Preston PR3 (with occasional travel to other sites)Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am- 5pm Friday 8am-3pmBenefits: 25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holidayAfter probation: Paid sick leave policy, Option for company pension, Option for private medical coverMore about this fantastic roleOur client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supply Chain Coordinator to join their operations team. This is a hands-on role with real influence, where you’ll work closely with key suppliers and internal teams to manage procurement, stock control, and logistics across multiple sites.You’ll play a central part in improving the current supply chain processes and stock management systems, while supporting operational tasks across the department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong supply chain experience to shape the future of the role and the department.***Please note- on a rota there will be a requirement to answer out of hours calls***Key ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain & Procurement
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships
  • Identify and implement improvements to current supply chain processes
  • Forecast demand and ensure timely ordering of stock and consumables
  • Source alternative suppliers when required (e.g. delays, cost savings)
  • Place orders to maintain minimum stock levels across all depots
Inventory & Stock Management
  • Assist in setting up and managing a new stockroom
  • Oversee stock levels at head office and other depots, including engineer vans
  • Carry out regular stock checks (planned and random)
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements and stock issues
Operational Support
  • Support operations team with job scheduling, quoting, logistics and reporting
  • Ensure job parts and liquids are issued and booked correctly
  • Liaise with the scheduling team for special order requirements
  • Track van stock, manage updates for obsolete or superseded items
  • Register and manage return of liquid samples for analysis
Logistics & Dispatch
  • Oversee goods in and goods out processes
  • Check and prepare parts for shipment (UK and international)
  • Prepare all necessary shipping paperwork, including export documentation
  • Book courier collections and ensure proof of collection is recorded
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in supply chain, procurement or stock control (essential)
  • Ability to manage supplier relationships and solve problems under pressure
  • Strong Excel skills (data analysis, reporting, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Commercially aware and able to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Experience with Protean software (desirable but not essential)
