Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented and visionary Financial Controller to support the strategic and operational success of a leading Aerospace business located in Prestwick, Scotland.

This is your chance to play a pivotal role in driving accounting compliance, financial reporting excellence, and streamlined processes-all while leading a team and making a lasting impact on the business.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of Accounting Functions: Oversee critical accounting cycles, including inventory management, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and banking functions.
  • Treasurer of Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to IFRS and US GAAP, deliver competitive financial processes, and elevate accounting service standards.
  • Statutory Reporting Leadership: Manage regulatory filings with precision and oversee seamless coordination of external audits for statutory financial statements.
  • Champion of Internal Controls: Lead initiatives to ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies, and maintain oversight to ensure integrity and accuracy in reconciling financial accounts.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Lead timely closing processes, collaborating across remote and onsite teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Financial Strategy Partner: Engage with commercial and operations teams to tackle normal and complex transactions, applying accounting policies to support strategic business decisions.
  • Standard Operating Pioneer: Create and refine internal procedures for accounting processes, ensuring clear documentation and smooth execution.
  • Team Leader & Motivator: Manage and coach a team of two direct reports, inspiring them to achieve their professional goals while delivering impactful results.
  • Collaborative Business Partner: Foster dynamic collaboration across departments-including engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality assurance, and supply chain-to align financial strategies with business operations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Essentials: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field, alongside strong progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Analytical Powerhouse: Exceptional skills to navigate complex financial data, provide actionable insights, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • ERP Knowledge: Experience working with systems such as SAP, Oracle, and HFM.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills to Shine:

  • knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP principles.
  • Audit background with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced technical skills within Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, juggle priorities, and execute with excellence in dynamic environments.
  • Adaptability to change and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
