We are delighted to be working on behalf of a well-established education provider in the Reading area who are looking to recruit an experienced Autism Resource Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis.


The role will see the chosen candidate working a 32.5 hour week Monday to Friday 08:05-15:05. Term time only + 5 inset days.

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Administrator to ensure the effective operation of systems and procedures within the Autism Resource department. The successful candidate will work closely with students, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders, playing a crucial role in the day-to-day administration of the resource.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student and Staff Liaison: Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive and positive environment.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Head of Autism Resource and staff, including preparation for meetings, scheduling, and managing communication.
  • Documentation & Record-Keeping:
    • Prepare paperwork for Annual Reviews and other relevant documents.
    • Take and distribute minutes for Annual Reviews and other key meetings.
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping and filing systems for all resource-related documentation.
  • Timetabling & Resource Management:
    • Liaise with the LSA Assistant Manager regarding TAtimetables and deployment to ensure that resources are efficiently allocated.
    • Ensure timely ordering of materials and resources across the BMW Centre to meet the needs of the team.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with statutory Health and Safety requirements to safeguard the well-being of all students and staff within the resource.

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize effectively.
  • High level of organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive, flexible, and passionate about supporting the needs of students with autism.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to handle sensitive situations appropriately.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations or a willingness to learn.
  • Experience with administrative tasks and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is desirable.

Minimum Skills/Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including Maths & English
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to main confidentiality at all times
  • Previous office experience
  • Experience of working with external departments
  • Ability to communicate with children and adults at all levels
  • ICT Competent
  • Excellent organistional skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
