About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Systems Safety Engineer to support the delivery of critical infrastructure projects within the Transport for London (TfL) environment. This is a contract position, ideal for someone with hands-on experience applying CENELEC standards and working within the framework of the ROGS regulations on safety-critical rail or transport systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage safety documentation, including Safety Plans, Safety Cases, and Hazard Logs in line with EN 50126/8/9 (CENELEC).

Conduct safety analysis, hazard identification (HAZID), and risk assessments, ensuring risks are managed to ALARP.

Interface with engineering teams, project managers, assurance leads, and TfL stakeholders to ensure system safety is embedded throughout the lifecycle.

Support Independent Safety Assessments (ISA) and provide input into engineering assurance and TfL Pathway processes.

Ensure compliance with ROGS and all applicable legal, regulatory, and safety governance frameworks.
Essential Skills & Experience:

Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (Systems, Electrical, Safety, etc.).

Strong track record as a Systems Safety Engineer on TfL or UK rail/transport infrastructure projects.

In-depth knowledge of CENELEC EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129.

Experience working under ROGS and UK rail safety regulations.

Skilled in developing and managing Hazard Logs, Safety Cases, and supporting assurance gates.

Familiar with TfL / LU Pathway processes and assurance procedures.
