Locum Child Care Lawyer – Immediate Start

Location: Hybrid (serving the six Berkshire Unitary Authorities)Contract: 3 - 6 months with a possibility of getting extendedTeam: Joint Legal Team – Child Care Court Teams

Are you a skilled child care lawyer ready to make an immediate impact? Join the dedicated legal team for Local Authority providing expert legal services to Children’s Services across Berkshire.

What You’ll Do:
  • Handle a diverse caseload including:
    • Care proceedings
    • Emergency Protection Orders (EPOs)
    • Inherent jurisdiction matters
    • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
  • Provide clear, strategic legal advice to Children’s Services.
  • Represent clients in court with confidence and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced child protection lawyers.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with expertise in child protection law.
  • Proven experience managing complex public law children cases.
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Available to start immediately.
