Quantity Surveyor - RC Frames and Groundworks

Bennett and Game are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of groundworks and civil engineering projects. This role will involve working closely with project teams to ensure cost efficiency, contract compliance, and financial control across multiple groundwork projects, including roads, drainage, foundations, and external works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing comprehensive cost estimates and detailed pricing schedules for tenders, ensuring all elements of the project scope are accurately captured and competitively positioned.
  • Producing thorough valuations, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation for live projects to facilitate smooth commercial reporting and client approvals.
  • Assessing and pricing variations on active projects, including the evaluation of scope changes, cost impacts, and supporting justification for submission.
  • Attending regular commercial meetings and conducting site visits to monitor progress, liaise with project teams, and ensure alignment between commercial and operational objectives.
  • Maintaining a meticulous register of all priced tenders and ongoing opportunities, tracking progress, outcomes, and key commercial information to support pipeline management and forecasting.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundwork/civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and commercial management.
  • Experience in pricing, procurement, and tendering processes.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Familiar working with Bluebeam or similar
