Project Design Engineer
Location: Redditch
Salary: Circa £40,000+ | Bonus Scheme | 7% Pension | Flexible Working Hours

A new opportunity has become available for a Project Design Engineer to join a well-established and globally operating engineering business. This role is based at a manufacturing site in the Redditch area and offers the chance to work on custom, technically complex projects within a fast-paced production environment. You'll be working as part of a collaborative team, responsible for turning customer specifications into engineered solutions, managing full design cycles from concept to production support.

Project Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Design bespoke mechanical systems using a range of modular components.
  • Produce accurate 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Create and maintain project Bills of Materials (BoMs).
  • Specify ancillary equipment and control systems aligned to technical requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure project success.
  • Support documentation, testing procedures, and design change management.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Project or Process Engineering.
  • Strong CAD capability (Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, AutoCAD).
  • Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings and models.
  • Familiarity with machined components, fabrication, and rotating equipment.

Project Design Engineer Package:

  • Salary circa £40,000+ depending on experience.
