Field Service Engineer (CNC) - Electrical Bias
Location: North West England base (Manchester/Liverpool/Preston corridor) with UK travel; potential for international support
Salary: £41,000-£46,000 basic DOE
OTE: £55,000+ realistic (overtime included)
Overtime & Travel Pay: Door-to-door paid at x1.33 (time and a third), including travel time
Holidays: 25 days + statutory bank holidays

Established machine tool service provider supporting blue-chip manufacturers across the UK and overseas. Continued growth; adding electrically biased Field Service Engineers to strengthen nationwide response and commissioning capability.

Role overview
Front-line field role focused on breakdown diagnostics and repair for CNC lathes and machining centres, plus installs, commissioning and PPM. You'll cover the North West and wider UK, with occasional trips to Europe to support partner engineers on projects.

Key responsibilities
- Rapid electrical fault-finding on CNC machine tools: drives, I/O, safety circuits, wiring
- Commissioning/installation of new CNC machines; decommission/recommission as needed
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring and PLC/ladder diagrams
- Machine geometry checks and alignments; identify and rectify faults to root cause
- Planned maintenance, health checks and clear service reporting
- Liaise with customers to set expectations and ensure high service standards

Requirements
- Electrically biased FSE with 2+ years in the machine tool industry (large CNCs preferred)
- Strong controls experience: FANUC, Heidenhain, Siemens (incl. 840D/Solution Line)
- Confident reading ladder logic and wiring diagrams; solid PPM knowledge
- HNC/HND or equivalent apprenticeship preferred
- IT literate; excellent customer service and communication
- Valid passport for occasional international travel; full UK driving licence; UK RTW
