Job Title: Production Controller
Salary: circa £27,000
Location: Rochdale, 5 days a week on-site (requiring daily walks of the production line)
Start Date: As soon as possible, but willing to wait up to one month notice period for the right candidate
Production Controller - About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and resilient Production Controller to join our manufacturing client. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of the production lines, managing trades people, and coordinating product movements. You will be reporting directly to the Operations Director and will be instrumental in supporting the wider supply chain team taking ownership of the planning and coordination of part and product movements.
Production Controller - Key Responsibilities:

Walk the production line daily with supervisors to track progress, identify any movement issues, and update the factory board accordingly.

Communicate production line status to Ops team, discussing and coordinating any necessary schedule adjustments.

Liaise extensively with external partners and other subcontractors to schedule and reschedule services.

Prepare and distribute daily schedules to supervisors, detailing all movements and subcontractor activities.

Maintain and update the production board with build hours, tracking progress against the production schedule.

Exceptional Organisational Skills: Ability to effectively manage and organize tasks and the overall production workflow.

Proactive & Assertive: You are not a "computer says no" type of person. You must be able to push back, "dig deep" with suppliers, and find solutions to get things done.

Strong Communication Skills: Confident and articulate in both phone and email communication, unafraid to call and negotiate with external sevice providers.

Resilience & Adaptability: You thrive in a fast-paced, often chaotic environment with numerous moving parts.

Problem-Solving: You can react quickly to unexpected changes and find practical solutions without relying on an ERP system.

No Specific Technical Knowledge Required: This role focuses on coordination and organisation, not technical expertise in manufacturing.
