Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School (Autism Focus)
Location: Rochdale

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with autism? We are a welcoming and inclusive secondary SEN school seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).



The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with pupils aged 11-16 with autism and associated needs

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to help students access learning

  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and social development

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, structured lessons

  • Help create a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environment



About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with autism (school or care settings)

  • Is patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Understands the importance of routines, consistency, and positive behaviour support

  • Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Holds (or is willing to work towards) relevant SEN or education qualifications
