We are working with an established and reputable construction firm, specialising in retail and supermarket fit-outs, to find a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional with a strong construction background, ideally within the retail fit-out sector, to play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest safety standards across their projects.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the health and safety function for construction projects, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to site teams on health and safety best practices and procedures.
  • Ensure the company’s health and safety management systems are adhered to and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Investigate accidents or near misses and report findings, implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.
     

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a Health and Safety Manager or similar role within the construction industry.
  • Experience working on retail and supermarket fit-out projects is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly within the construction sector.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the business.
  • Proactive, with a keen eye for detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
