About the Role: As our Permanent Teacher of Sociology (A-Level Specialist) within the Humanities Department, you will play a key role in guiding our Sixth Form students through the complexities of the social world. You will deliver engaging and in-depth lessons at A-Level, fostering critical thinking, research skills, and a deep understanding of sociological perspectives and contemporary social issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated Sociology lessons primarily at A-Level.
- Cultivate a positive and intellectually stimulating learning environment for advanced Sociology students within the Humanities framework.
- Develop and share high-quality teaching resources and contribute to the A-Level Sociology curriculum within the Humanities Department.
- Track student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and support UCAS applications for Sociology-related courses.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Humanities Department and the wider school community.
- Potentially contribute to extracurricular activities within Humanities that promote an interest in social issues and sociological understanding at a higher level.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A strong degree in Sociology or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully teaching Sociology at A-Level is essential.
- A deep and up-to-date knowledge of the A-Level Sociology specification and assessment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills, particularly with Sixth Form students.
