Senior HR and Employee Relations Manager with in-depth ER and HR experience and strong knowledge of UK employment law is required for a full-time role within the core head office team based in Romford, Essex.

SALARY: £60,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Romford, Essex (100% Office Based)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

KEY REQUIREMENTS:Candidates MUST be qualified in Employment Law and have in-depth ER experience.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior HR and Employee Relations Manager with in-depth ER and HR experience and strong knowledge of UK employment law.

Working as the Senior HR and Employee Relations Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance and fostering positive employee relations within the organisation. This includes providing expert advice and comprehensive support to the HR Manager, Directors, and Operational Managers on all aspects of employment law and employee relations.

Beyond routine case management, as the Senior HR and Employee Relations Manager your role extends to strategic HR initiatives, including supporting client-facing matters with an employee conduct element, conducting HR due diligence on potential acquisitions, auditing third-party labour providers, and updating HR-related business processes across the group. This proactive approach ensures the organisation's HR practices are robust, compliant, and aligned with best practice, contributing to a stable and productive work environment.

You will also manage ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Directors, demonstrating adaptability and a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's HR needs.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Senior HR and Employee Relations Manager include:

  • Providing expert advice to Directors and senior managers on all aspects of employment law and employee relations
  • Managing and/or overseeing the HR Manager (and broader team and managers) in the handling of all employee relations casework and the wider HR remit
  • Preparing detailed meeting invitations and outcome letters on behalf of decision-makers
  • Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes and providing proactive advice on their implications
  • Developing and/or revising HR documentation, processes, and procedures as required
  • Leading and managing the integration of the HR function (including systems and processes) within the Group
  • Designing and overseeing staff learning and development initiatives (in collaboration with the Compliance Director), including the implementation and ongoing management of a new learning and development platform
  • Managing a range of ad hoc employment matters, including flexible working requests and subject access requests
  • Providing support as needed on ad hoc projects, such as corporate acquisitions
  • Proactively supervising and supporting the wider HR function, ensuring adherence to legal obligations, Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme requirements, and ISO standards such as ISO 9001

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified in Employment Law
  • Must have in-depth ER experience managing a wide range of employee relation issues
  • Need to be a confident expert on all Employee Relations matters
  • Good management and team leadership skills with the ability to manage HR personnel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with senior stakeholders
  • Policy and procedure driven
