Legal Secretary - Private Client (Must have wills and probate experience)

Join a multi-office, Lexcel accredited High Street practice with a longstanding history of nearly 70 years, yet progressive in approach. We are seeking a Legal Secretary with proven, recent experience in Private Client work, specifically within the Wills & Probate department. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, highly organised individual with excellent communication skills, as it involves direct client interaction.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the Private Client department.
  • Draft and prepare legal documentation including Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Wills & Trusts, and general correspondence.
  • Prepare and complete IHT forms such as IHT205, IHT217, and IHT400.
  • Manage Probate forms online and prepare LPA forms and Wills based on solicitor notes.
  • Work as part of a friendly, enthusiastic team with excellent opportunities for progression.
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year's experience assisting within Private Client, Wills & Probate.
  • Experience with LEAP case management system is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of private client work with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Excellent administration, organisational, and digital audio transcription skills.
  • Typing speed of 60 WPM.
  • Excellent team player with a clear ability and keenness to build and maintain client and referrer relationships.
  • Ability to commute easily to all three offices for holiday and departmental team cover.
