A long-established and well-respected Chartered Surveying consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their multi-disciplinary team based near Romford, Essex.

This is a key role for a confident Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take on project leadership responsibilities and help shape the future of a growing Cost Consultancy and Project Management department.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor's Role

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will join a close-knit office of 15 and take over project and client responsibilities from a retiring Associate. Working alongside Building Surveyors, Project Managers, and Quantity Surveyors, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be involved in a range of duties including cost planning, contract administration, fund monitoring, and acting as Employer's Agent.

Projects are varied in both size and sector, with a current workload including 2m-50m residential developments, commercial showrooms, school refurbishments, maintenance schemes, and fund monitoring commissions for banks and developers. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be expected to manage these commissions independently, while also mentoring junior staff and contributing to the long-term development of the practice.

This opportunity is ideal for a Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking autonomy, a clear route to progression, and a genuinely varied project workload.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor - Requirements

  • MRICS ideally or working towards
  • 5+ years Quantity Surveying experience
  • PQS/Consultancy background
  • Pre & Post Contract experience
  • A successful track record leading projects from inception to completion
  • Project Management, Employers Agent or Contract Administration experience is an added bonus
  • Comfortable overseeing multiple projects across different sectors
