SEN Teaching Assistant (Psychology Graduate)

Remedy Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a Psychology degree to join a supportive and inclusive school in Romford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate who is looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), including autism (ASD), ADHD, social and emotional needs (SEMH), and other learning difficulties.

The school is well-resourced and has a strong focus on helping every pupil reach their full potential, both academically and emotionally.

The role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of additional needs

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Support pupils' emotional regulation and wellbeing using positive behaviour strategies

  • Help create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Use your understanding of psychology to support learning and emotional development

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in Psychology (or a closely related field)

  • Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)

  • Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS certificate
