Are you seeking a Technical Assistant role?

We are seeking a skilled Technical Assistant to join our client's team in Rotherham. This role will be based out of their head office and will involve working with an established team in both the Factory and Offices.

What does the role of Technical Assistant entail?

Providing technical support to suppliers, customers, and production and commercial teams on site.
Managing customer complaints and non-conformances by identifying root causes and implementing appropriate corrective and preventative actions, while ensuring effective communication with customers, both internally and externally.
Conducting and documenting traceability tests as required.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical specifications for products and raw materials in compliance with industry standards.
Assisting with the maintenance of the quality management system, including HACCP, Supplier Approval, BRCGS, Red Tractor, and regulatory bodies.
Supporting site audits for compliance with BRCSGS, Red Tractor, FSA, and customer standards.
Conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with site BRCGS and QMS standards, reporting any non-compliance internally as necessary.
Completing internal training on food safety, hygiene, and compliance procedures.
Acting as a deputy for the Technical Manager as needed.

What qualifications and experience are required for this role?

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a meat processing or food manufacturing environment, with knowledge of quality, technical, or production management systems.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Ability to provide supervision, conduct competency assessments, and deliver training when necessary.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
Practical knowledge and experience of BRC standards, allergen and hygiene management.
Higher National Certificate or equivalent education.
HACCP level 3, internal audit/inspection qualification.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

What are the working hours for this role as a Technical Assistant?

Monday to Friday.

£27000 per annum
