Metal Sorter - Full-time
Location:Hellaby, Rotherham
Salary: 28,000 to 31,000 per year + Bonus Scheme
Pay negotiable for an outstanding candidate
About the Role
We're looking for a reliable and detail-focused Metal Sorter to join our friendly, hard-working team. You'll be testing and sorting Nickel and Cobalt superalloys, mostly from aerospace and gas turbine sources, using handheld XRF equipment. This is a hands-on role in a supportive team where everyone pulls together and helps out when needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Test and sort incoming materials using a handheld XRF analyser
* Identify Nickel and Cobalt superalloy specifications (mainly aerospace and IGT grades)
* Accurately complete Sort Reports and pass to the Sorting Supervisor
* Return goods to stock and update stock movement sheets
* Maintain a clean and safe working area
* Help with loading/unloading and preparing metal for sale as needed
What We're Looking For
* Must have at least 2 years' experience using XRF analysis equipment in metals or scrap
* Good knowledge of Nickel and Cobalt superalloy specifications
* Experience with handheld XRF metal analysers
* Organised, with strong attention to detail
* Team player, willing to support across the business when needed
Qualifications & Requirements
* GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above), or equivalent
* Full, clean driving licence
* Valid Forklift Truck licence
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, or 8:00 am to 3:30 pm Friday: 6:00 am to 1:30 pm, 6:30 am to 2:00 pm, or 7:00 am to 2:30 pm
(All shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
Shift patterns are set by the Works Manager and will rotate. Occasional afternoon or night shifts may be required.
