About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Decorator Day Technician to join our Engineering team within the canning industry. This is a key role in maintaining and enhancing high-speed production equipment used in the decoration of metal cans. If you have a mechanical mindset, a passion for precision, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on canning and decorating equipment
  • Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed machinery to meet production and quality standards
  • Conduct daily checks and monitor equipment condition continuously
  • Execute planned and ad hoc maintenance, including height/diameter changes
  • Support installation, commissioning, and trials of new equipment
  • Maintain accurate records using maintenance systems (e.g., Apriso)
  • Rebuild unit spares and manage spare parts inventory
  • Provide training and technical support to team members
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
  • Operate FLT and perform machining tasks (turning, milling, grinding) as needed

What We're Looking For:

  • Time-served apprenticeship in Engineering/Mechanical discipline or equivalent experience
  • HNC/HND qualification desirable
  • Electrical qualification is an advantage
  • FLT license or willingness to train
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Flexible and willing to support other areas when required
