About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Decorator Day Technician to join our Engineering team within the canning industry. This is a key role in maintaining and enhancing high-speed production equipment used in the decoration of metal cans. If you have a mechanical mindset, a passion for precision, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on canning and decorating equipment
- Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed machinery to meet production and quality standards
- Conduct daily checks and monitor equipment condition continuously
- Execute planned and ad hoc maintenance, including height/diameter changes
- Support installation, commissioning, and trials of new equipment
- Maintain accurate records using maintenance systems (e.g., Apriso)
- Rebuild unit spares and manage spare parts inventory
- Provide training and technical support to team members
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Operate FLT and perform machining tasks (turning, milling, grinding) as needed
What We're Looking For:
- Time-served apprenticeship in Engineering/Mechanical discipline or equivalent experience
- HNC/HND qualification desirable
- Electrical qualification is an advantage
- FLT license or willingness to train
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Flexible and willing to support other areas when required

- High attention to detail and precision
- Willingness to travel to other locations if needed
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
