Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (2 Days, 2 Nights - 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am)

Are you a skilled and adaptable technician with a passion for keeping production lines running smoothly? We're looking for a Technical Float to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Rugby. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Technical Float, you'll play a vital role in supporting both production and engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining a wide range of manufacturing equipment across the plant.
  • Supporting planned maintenance activities and ensuring continuity across shifts.
  • Completing work orders and providing feedback via the Fiix system.
  • Performing quality checks and ensuring products meet defined standards.
  • Assisting with breakdowns, line conversions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and compliance.

Key Areas You'll Support

You'll rotate across various departments, including:

  • Front End (Fork Truck, Baler)
  • Cupper, Bodymaker, Trimmer
  • Washer, Waste Treatment
  • Coater, Decorator
  • Inside Spray, Necker, QC
  • Palletiser, Warehouse, and more

What We're Looking For

  • Recognised Time-Served Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Experience in preventative maintenance and production machinery
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer literacy and good communication skills
  • Forklift truck experience (training provided if needed)
