Job Title: Technical Float - Manufacturing Operations
Location: Rugby, UK
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (2 Days, 2 Nights - 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Are you a skilled and adaptable technician with a passion for keeping production lines running smoothly? We're looking for a Technical Float to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Rugby. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Technical Float, you'll play a vital role in supporting both production and engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating and maintaining a wide range of manufacturing equipment across the plant.
- Supporting planned maintenance activities and ensuring continuity across shifts.
- Completing work orders and providing feedback via the Fiix system.
- Performing quality checks and ensuring products meet defined standards.
- Assisting with breakdowns, line conversions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and compliance.
Key Areas You'll Support
You'll rotate across various departments, including:
- Front End (Fork Truck, Baler)
- Cupper, Bodymaker, Trimmer
- Washer, Waste Treatment
- Coater, Decorator
- Inside Spray, Necker, QC
- Palletiser, Warehouse, and more
What We're Looking For
- Recognised Time-Served Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
- ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
- Experience in preventative maintenance and production machinery
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy and good communication skills
- Forklift truck experience (training provided if needed)
